A Table Top Role Playing Game
The distant future: 2023. Computer technologies have evolved to the extreme. They’re used in corporate, transportation, security, entertainment, you name it. Cold, ruthless, efficient. If you wanna survive in this world, you’ve gotta evolve too. Welcome to the rat-race where everyone’s trying to get ahead in any way they can. You can rely on the brute force of blades and bullets, put your hacker skills to the test to bring the system down from inside, engage your mechanical know-how and engineer a solution, or perhaps delve into the mysterious, physics-defying powers at the fringes of human knowledge. Whatever path you choose, a new life lies ahead of you, and it ain’t pulling punches.
At its core, Splicer is about freedom. Freedom to explore a world the way you choose, with a character that you designed. Freedom to live out your favourite science fiction archetypes, or to forge your own style. The rules fabricate a loose framework which intends to focus creativity, not limit it.
Splicer was inspired by many works of science fiction and fantasy, including Blade Runner, System Shock, Morrowind and Thief: The Metal Age. By drawing from and iterating upon such content, the system attempts to accommodate for any role a player may want to inhabit. No abilities are limited to specific play styles, and can be combined in any desired manner as a Splicer progresses through the world.
